Registered Herbalist (Clinical)

Herbalist

Lorie Schell is a clinically designated Registered Herbalist with the Saskatchewan Consultant Herbalist Association. Supported by comprehensive education and extensive clinical mentorship, her commitment to ongoing learning ensures her practice remains current, effective, and grounded in responsible, client centered herbal care.

A graduate of Wild Rose College of Herbal Medicine, Lorie’s training spans Traditional Chinese Medicine, Ayurvedic Medicine, Traditional Western Medicine, and Western Herbal Energetics. She integrates these systems through a holistic lens, recognizing physical, emotional, and mental well being as interconnected aspects of health. Her work focuses on restoring balance and optimizing the body’s natural function to support meaningful, lasting outcomes for her clients.

Lorie has completed additional studies in Iridology through the Southern Institute of Natural Health. Often described as both an art and a science, Iridology reflects the belief that the eyes offer insight into the deeper patterns of a person’s health. As understanding evolves, it becomes increasingly clear that emotional experiences cannot be separated from the conditions that shape our lives — a perspective that aligns closely with Lorie’s holistic approach to wellness.

What Is An Herbalist

An herbalist is a practitioner who works with medicinal plants to support health and well‑being, using preparations such as teas, tinctures, salves, powders, and oils. Herbalists take a holistic approach, considering a person’s physical symptoms, medical history, lifestyle, diet, and emotional state before offering plant‑based recommendations. Their work includes conducting detailed consultations, preparing individualized herbal formulations, and educating clients on safe, effective herbal use. While herbalists are highly trained in plant medicine and traditional healing systems, they do not diagnose medical conditions or replace licensed medical care; instead, they provide complementary support aimed at restoring balance and improving overall vitality. A Registered Herbalist completes years of formal education and mentored clinical hours to meet professional registration standards. Maintaining this designation requires ongoing study and continued development of clinical skills, ensuring that clients receive informed, responsible, and up‑to‑date herbal care.
